Reflection
They say the art of the diarist is dead. No longer to people write diaries about the things happening in the world around them and no longer do they feel it relevant to reflect on their day.
But if the diary is dead then answer me this, what am I doing here? Am I not reflecting on the past? Musing over the future and writing about the things happening in the world around me?
The diary is not dead, it’s just changed its name by deed poll and given itself a whole new look.
The diary is dead…long live the blog!

The diary is an intimate account meant for one person and one person only: you. A blog is an opportunity to ramble aimlessly about anything that comes into your head and celebrate your love of 1) Star Wars 2) Jesus Christ and 3) your pitiful, aimless life. Very little artfulness to a blog but I can read the journals/diaries of someone like Christopher Isherwood or Joseph Joubert and feel genuinely uplifted and inspired. Similarly, an e-mail is NOT a letter…and death to emoticons!
Thanks for this…
I have kept a diary since age 12 and I am now 45. I agree though that the new diary is the blog. Liked the post.
